Just weird. How is this better than regular tongs? Why would you want your hand *closer* to the splattering bacon grease?

I doubt I would be able to replace my regular potholders and use this exclusively, so it wouldn't be worth the drawer space for me.

Aimi - I don't know about wanting to be near the bacon grease, but I can see how it could be much easier to work with food items directly rather than using what's essentially large tweezers. I know I want a set after seeing this photo.

Well sort of. I don't want to pay $18 for them. $10 or less? Hell yeah - assuming its a pair. $18 for one? Not bloody likely.

The grey one reminds me of a darth vader mask.

This seems like something that would be a good idea but not such a great practical tool.

I am still looking for some kind of silicone hand covering to use when removing the skin from roasted peppers. Don't think this would work but it might be better than a big oven mitt shape.
