If there's one kitchen tool we use on a regular basis (besides knives) it's the vegetable peeler. We eat a ton of vegetables each week and we have absolutely no idea what we'd do without our vegetable peeler. They come in different shapes and sizes — here are our favorites!
• Kuhn Rikon Julienne Peeler, $20.00 at Sur la Table - The best tool for getting perfectly julienned vegetables each and every time.
• Kyocera Adjustable Ceramic Peeler, $19.95 at Williams-Sonoma - Made with a ceramic blade to avoid reacting with different foods, this adjustable peeler is top notch. The head even adjusted to three different angles for the most efficient peeling depending on the vegetable.
• Vegetable Peeler, CUTCO - If you prefer a side blade peeler this is a great option. Features a wide comfortable handle and a long blade.
• Swiss Ceramic Peeler, $10.00 on Kuhn Rikon - Made from high quality ceramic, the blade stays extremely sharp for ultimate peeling. Plus, the ceramic blade won't rust like typically metal blades.
• Garlic Peeler, $8.95 at Sur la Table - It's certainly not a staple tool in the average kitchen, but if you're one who hates peeling garlic this tool is for you. Place the garlic inside of the tube, press down and twist.

Cool! I've never seen the garlic peeler before, sounds quite handy.
I had that garlic peeler once, used it a few times, then gave it away. While it worked (I guess), it was a pain to clean all the sticky out of the inside of it. Smashing with a knife works better.
I have a peeler very much like that swiss ceramic peeler, and it's amazing. I find I'm able to peel unwieldy things like butternut squashes pretty easily because of the extra leverage.
I bring it with me when I cook at other people's houses.
Here in Canada you can get those garlic peelers at the dollar store. I have a hard time believing people would pay $9 for them when you can get them for a buck.
I love that Cutco peeler so much!
I need a good veg peeler for the rare occasions I peel a veg. Most of the time I just give the outsides a good scrub and leave the peels on.
The Kyocera adjustable rocks.
The garlic peelers actually work well, but like most other garlic-specific gadgets, I agree the the tubular thingie isn't worth it from the cleaning perspective.
I do have one that is just a flat piece of whatever that folds over the cloves and avoids the cleaning problem, but I still don't really use it. Just as easy to smash then peel.
I have a Kuhn Rikon double-sided peeler. The head swings around to a serrated blade on one side and a straight blade on the other. The unused side is hidden in the handle. I love it more than any peeler, and it was just about nine dollars.
