Q: I worked at an all-vegan bakery a while back that was in Blue Ash, Ohio, and they made Marzipan Kisses. They were AMAZING! It was a simple cookie, I believe a sugar cookie, a little bigger than a quarter with a dollop of marzipan on it and the marzipan was then dipped in a sweet icing that hardened. (Royal Icing?)
I never got to make them so I have no idea what the ingredients are. I'm just looking for a recipe vegan or not vegan that will satisfy my Marzipan Kisses craving!

Editor: Le'Ann, these cookies sound incredible and we think you're on the right track with recreating them. Marzipan is very easy to find or even make yourself, and the sugar coating you describe sounds like royal icing to us, as well.

The last piece of the puzzle is that sugar cookie base. If you don't need the cookie to be vegan, we suggest our recipe for Best Sugar Cookies. To keep them vegan, take a look at one of these recipes:
• Vegan Sugar Cookies from Epicurious
• Vegan Sugar Cookies from Vegetarian Times
Readers, any suggestions for how to recreate this recipe?
