Q: Last year, my boss brought in a plate of heavenly "cookies" that his neighbor from Israel made. They were the most delicious things I have ever put in my mouth! The problem is that the cookies were their going away gift to my boss — they moved the next day with no forwarding address and no hope of getting the recipe!
So I took a picture of the "cookie" (the texture was more like a truffle, although it was cookie shaped) and posted it on facebook to see if anyone knew what they were. A year later I am still trying to determine what this cookie was. Maybe you might know? I could detect coconut, cherries (possibly rum-soaked), along with what appeared to be bits of a soft graham cracker, with a creamy chocolate texture and coated in cocoa powder.

Editor: Your description reminds me a bit of heavenly hash:
Maybe you could try using the chocolate base from this recipe and fold in shredded coconut, cherries, and graham cracker pieces.
Readers, any other ideas?
