Q: I would like to incorporate more beans in my diet, for health (trying to reduce meat) and budget reasons. The problem is, I really dislike beans and lentils. I've tried several times to cook them, and although the flavors were nice, I find the grainy texture really off-putting. Any suggestions?
Maybe recipes that have blended beans? (I like hummus, but there is only so much I can eat of it!)

Editor: Val, have you tried cooking dried beans from scratch? That was the turning point for me with cooking beans! And if you've been cooking beans from scratch and they're still grainy, make sure that the beans are relatively fresh — old beans will stay grainy no matter how long you cook them.
