Have you ever used a glass bundt pan? We've been eyeing this one at Amazon, curious about whether it would make bundt cake baking easier, or devilishly difficult.
It would be interesting to be able to watch a cake as it browns in the oven, and know just when it's done on the bottom... err, top. But we also wonder if this kind of bakeware would make it very difficult to get the cake out intact.
Have you ever used a glass bundt cake pan? It also looks like it would be very fun to use for molded gelatin desserts...

I use one by Jena and never had a problem with my baked goods sticking. I think they recommend slightly lower heat, but I've never really bothered. I've had it for over 20 years and used it plenty of times.
I use glass pyrex dishes for brownies and cakes all the time, and I've never had any problems. As long as you grease the pan properly, I can't see removal being an issue. I kind of want one of those now.
Glass is really dangerous it breaks and chips so in a commercial kitchen you will never see glass. It is a household staple to use glass and I absolutely love my corningware, but glass is also not that great of a heat conductor. It traps it just fine yet dose not transfer the heat all that well, but if you did go with it you will more than likely be looking at different bake times and and temperatures.
Also for an angle food cake it might be a real pain to clean afterward seeing as you cannot greese the pan or your cake will fall out during the setting period.
But for jello that would be the most awesome presentation and it would be so cute to set up on the table for Thanksgiving!!!
so just think of what your going to be cooking with it and go from there.
I have a vintage glass tube pan and it is wonderful. I use it for cakes and breads and sticking is not an issue. My family all compliment the wonderful outer crumb on cakes baked in this pan.
i had just starting to wonder if such thing existed. i purchased my first bundt pan a few months ago at the thrift store and it rusted after the 2nd use. i really don't like non stick pans. I'll try this one definitely.
I know this is kind of gold, but I figured I would post anyway. I have used this exact piece, and its wonderful! When I cooked my cake, it came out of the pan so easily- and I didn't really notice much of a difference in the cook time.
This particular brand makes their products out of 'borosilicate' glass. Which is much stronger then your average glass that's made by pryex and the similar brands.
Its a great piece, and they have so many more awesome products available as well. I would suggest to everyone that they invest in SIMAX glassware, its great!
