Harvest Colors & The Kitchen Cure: Welcome to October!

It's October! Time for crisp red leaves, brisk air, and autumn food! Squash, pumpkins, apples, braised meats, polenta and pasta. Halloween candy and Thanksgiving pies are just around the corner, too — can you feel the change in the air? We'll be celebrating harvest bounty and its bright colors all month, here at The Kitchn — and one of our favorite events happens this month too: The Kitchen Cure! Are you ready?

The Kitchen Cure is our twice-yearly event where we all pitch in to encourage, cajole, and inspire one another to get our kitchens in top-notch shape. We clean out the pantry and the cupboards, deep-clean the corners, and add a touch of beauty. Been meaning to paint your kitchen or hang a shelf? This is the time to do it! We all share photos and tips, and keep ourselves on track in a 4-week project to get things really pulled together before the holidays hit in earnest.
