October: Harvest Month!

October is Harvest, and we're happy it's fall. What does autumn look like where you're at right now? For us it looks like apple picking and farmers markets full of squash, green tomatoes, and late season fruit.

We're still clearing out our kitchens, doing leftover Kitchen Keeping and this fall's edition of The Cure. We'll celebrate Harvest Month with a beginner's guide to canning, recipes for preserved foods - finally getting around to pickles! - more farmers market reports, and plenty of colorful photos from harvest time all over the country. Anything else you'd like to do in harvest month?
