Reader Paula recently sent us a link to one of her own products: the folding Double Exposure Trivet. This smart, simple trivet folds up for storage or for smaller pots, and it unfolds to be big enough for a whole casserole dish!
This trivet is made by hand in Paula and Mike's San Francisco woodworking shop. It hinges out to support larger hot dishes on the table, and folds back in for storage or to support a smaller bowl. Smart!
This trivet does come with a handmade price tag. But our readers are so often complaining about mass market goods and poorly-made tools. Wouldn't you rather pay a little more and have something handmade by a fellow cook?

That's really nice but given the price tag, wouldn't buy it for myself.
Brilliant!
This is very clever!
