With Halloween right around the corner, it's crunch time for costumes. However, if you're thinking about pulling off a food costume this year, you may want to think again. As Bon Appétit points out, sometimes Halloween food costumes don't quite come off as well in execution as you'd think.
Whether it's not having use of your arms (we're talking to you, pizza twins) or having to overly explain your costume, check out some food costume don'ts below in the slideshow bleow.

It looks like there are arm slits in those things.
I don't partake in Halloween as I don't think it jives well with my personal faith but I did see a costume that make me smirk. Someone dressed up as a rasher of bacon with a sticker that said "Hello, my name is Kevin." I do like a good pun.
I don't get it, all of the costumes in the link were recognizable, some were quite clever, and just about all of them looked like they were having a good time? Except maybe sad burrito, but his costume was great.
Considering the absolute garbage that passes for costumes these days (I think we've all seen "sexy sesame street" at this point), these were all pretty great.
I agree with Holler. I have already dressep up as a broccoli, a calzone and a sushi. All costumes were made by me, they worked just fine and I had a great time while wearing them.

How fun. My favorite was the deviled egg. Like Battra92, I love visual puns.
There was no reason for that to be anti-food-costume. A simple "funny food costumes" post would have sufficed. Some of those were funny, and dignity and costumes are never the best of friends anyway.
Bacon guy is at Dragon*Con, not dressing up for Halloween. Not an especially terrific costume, but hey, geeks like bacon too.
