Q: Do you have any suggestions for what to make at an office Cook-Off? I would like to make something vegetarian, and it cannot be put in the oven (because we have a separate Bake-Off).
Any ideas?

Editor: Becky, this is a wide-open field of possibility, but I've had my eye on these:
• Recipe: Sweet Potato & Goat Cheese Bruschetta
Readers, what else would you suggest?

Vegetarian chili - cooked and carried in a Crockpot. Bring lots of yummy toppings on the side and even non-veggies will love it!
Something Asian inspired? There's lots of dishes that vegetable based and flavored with a seaweed base, like soups and rice porridges. Maybe something mediterranean ?
Try this stove top mac-n-cheese with caramelized onion, apple, squash and Gouda. Just forget the bacon. Butternut Squash Gouda Mac n’ Cheese with Apples and Bacon (optional)
Try some sparkling cranberry and brie bites or a 7 layer Greek dip:

You can make this more savory with sauteed mushrooms and sage. But this will impress everyone!
At our work potluck this week, someone brought veggie hominey, which won my pick for best dish. It was in a crockpot.
