Wait... what they are calling a gooseberry is not what I know as a gooseberry. The gooseberries I have always eaten are green, bigger than peas, but smaller than blueberries. What is this orange gooseberry?
They are Cape gooseberries, which are actually related to tomatillos.

On second thought, I think I have tried Cape Gooseberries. I believe they are what are known here as "ground cherries."
