Good Web (and Wine) Resource: Nirvino

Like Metacritic, or Rotten Tomatoes - but for wine. That was the first thing we thought when we came across Nirvino. Nirvino takes critics' scorings and review and assembles them for comprehensive coverage of almost any bottle of wine you care to look up.

They take wine reviews and ratings from print, online, and broadcast wine critics and lump them all together into one score. It's been around since the beginning of 2007 but we've only found it recently and already we've enjoyed looking up many bottles of wine.

Also check out Nirvino To Go. In their own words:

You’re stuck in a restaurant staring blankly at the wine menu... or perhaps at the grocery store doing “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe” – believe us, we’ve been there. Check out our mobile applications and let us help you select that great bottle when you need it most! Access Nirvino from your iPhone, Treo, Blackberry, or plain old cellphone.

They also have some good info on food pairings and flavor profiles. It's a great companion to more in-depth wine reviews and reading.
