Q: Can you recommend any multi-purpose baking cookbooks that have scones, cookies, cakes, and more?

Editor: Shaina, a couple suggestions. First of all, Lisa Yockelson just released a fairly large and comprehensive set of recipes in her Baking Style: Art, Craft, Recipes (Wiley, $26 at Amazon). Then there is a great favorite, Dorie Greenspan's Baking: From My Home to Yours (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, $26 at Amazon). But perhaps my favorite is Shirley Corriher's BakeWise: The Hows and Whys of Successful Baking with Over 200 Magnificent Recipes (Scribner, $26 at Amazon), which guides and teaches with a educational approach to the science of baking.
