Editor: Stephanie, this is the perfect time for pie. How about something with apples or pears? They're in season now. Or you could go even more indulgent with this Browned Butter Butterscotch Pie.

And do you have any thoughts on the freshness of the pie dough? 10 days is a long time to keep a pie dough in the refrigerator; it may be a little stale around the edges. Be sure to trim off any particularly dry or crumbly bits before using.
