Now and then we see yet another answer to a Good Question and want to post it. Last November Donna asked us about cute recipe boxes; she was looking for something more modern and Marimekko-esque. Our main recommendation was to go vintage, as there is a serious dearth of modern recipe boxes.
Then we saw these Jack and Lulu recipe boxes in this month's Blueprint - they're bright and so perfectly modern...

The hinged lucite recipe boxes come in a variety of colors, and we like that there's a tray in the lid to prop up the recipe card you're using. The boxes include chocolate brown tabs and 50 lined recipe cards.
They're a little pricey, but more modern than most of the other boxes we've seen.
Jack and Lulu Recipe Boxes, $50 each.

I loved all the recommendations, but these are really great! You're right -- the price is a bit steep, but they're so chic, I'm definitely buying at least two. Thanks for the tips. :)
I use a tiny old Dell subcompact laptop with a 14" screen.
I have 600 recipes saved online with Google Documents that I can pull up anywhere - at work, at home, or on my phone at the grocery store.
See something of interest on a food blog? Just email it to my google documents email address and it automatically gets created as a new document. Looking for a recipe? Google search my docs. Looking for an a metric/imperial conversion? Go online.
I'd never go back to paper. But these are cute for those who haven't made the jump.
We actually carry a Marimekko print box. You can find it here!
