Here's a holiday baking question from reader Ashley. Maybe you can help? She writes:
I have a holiday baking dilemma. I want to bake a breakfasty quick bread for the holidays but my boyfriend hates cranberries AND pumpkin. Does anyone have a good suggestion or recipe that I should try? THANKS!
Ashley, when you say holiday and bread - we have one thought: cinnamon! Sweet cinnamon is another classic holiday flavor that nearly everyone loves. If you're hoping for a quick bread, here are a few recipes we found that your boyfriend might enjoy. A couple of them are copycat recipes; they imitate the Starbucks chocolate cinnamon bread that is popular this time of year.
On a side note, we also love lemon. Citrus is coming into season right now, and we love to take advantage of that. We have a favorite recipe for lemon sesame muffins that we also bake as a bread loaf; it has lemon syrup drizzled all over it so it's moist and tangy. Serve with homemade lemon curd for a real holiday morning treat.
Do you have other suggestions for Ashley? Recipe recommendations too?
