OMG I love this idea! I would always bring things to work in GladWare, but hate microwaving in plastic. At the same time, the office dishes are kinda gross. This is such an ideal solution. Thank you for posting it!
It is practical. Large enough to hold soup or a portion for lunch, but small enough to fit in my lunch container.
It has the blue thing on top that you can pop to let steam vent when you use it in the microwave. The only problem is that when the food is hot and you pry the whole lid off, it can end up splattering you with hot soup or steam. I've learned to take the top off and rest it on top of the container when I'm heating something. It'll catch the splatters without splattering on you when you remove it.
I've been using these for a couple of years at home, but I don't tote them to work, because I find them too heavy on public transit/on foot. I have several and like to freeze meals in them. I usually thaw them out before popping them into the microwave (although it isn't necessary). These make it easy to get a bunch of single meals ready to go at once.
I've had this for a few years and love it! The top still fits snugly after all this time. It's even cheaper if you use one of those ubiquitous 20% off coupons at BB&B.
This is a cute mug/alternative lunch container option. I use glass containers (from BB& B) with a plastic lid and love them, they can go from freezer to fridge to oven or microwave. I can see what's inside and they all stack well in addition to fitting nicely in my lunch tote. I use plastic containers for cold foods.
I've owned two of these for a couple of years now. We really love them. We bought them at Wal-Mart - I still see them there. My husband loves his at work. I love mine at home (currently it's holding on to some bacon drippings).
