After hearing that she was stepping down as Bon Appétit's editor-in-chief, we've been mighty curious to hear where Barbara Fairchild would turn up next. It seems she's decided to throw her weight behind digital publishing
and join teams with one of the newest online food magazines, Real Eats from Nomad Editions!
Launched in December 2010, Nomad Editions is the publisher of several entirely web-based publications. Real Eats is their weekly digital magazine focused entirely on food and cooking, and Barbara Fairchild will be contributing a monthly column. Real Eats editor Sean Elder says Fairchild will cover "personal anecdotes, advice from some of the well-known chefs she is friends with, and even recipes" in her column.
In our minds, this is just one more mark in favor of digital magazines. With Fairchild joining other big name food writers at Real Eats like Susie Quick (former editor for Real Simple and Glamour), Serena Bass (cookbook author), and Michelle Wildgen (Tin House executive editor), we're very excited to see how this publication evolves over the next few months.
