Here's an entire herb garden that can go from porch to sunny window sill to kitchen, all without spilling dirt or dropping leaves on the floor. It's a pretty brilliant idea, don't you think?!
This is a design concept from Italian designers Katia Mattioli and Iskra Sguera that we spotted over on Joanna Goddard's blog. The designers modeled their caddy after a milk crate. Each individual herb planter fits snugly inside and can be removed or rearranged as desired.
If you happen to be traveling in Italy this summer, you can pick up one of the original models! We also think it would be easy to make our own using a pretty caddy (or even something like these wooden boxes!) and a few plastic cups with holes drilled in the bottom.
We think it makes a pretty little garden that is both functional and whimsical!

Wow, such a good idea, and so cute too! I love the modernist design that still manage to retain a bit of charm. Not to mention utility.

Love it! I'm going to get several of these. I'll bet this would solve my Cilantro problem.
That's pretty awesome! And double coolness points for designery things that can be made at home!
Fantastic idea!

Awesome idea!
I solved the problem of a herb garden in a home with a yard I can't dig up, and poor sun exposure by getting a wagon at a yard sale and using that as my bed. I can wheel it to get the best light and move it to prevent grass death!
