Every week we round up our favorite eating and cooking from our friends at Serious Eats. This week the Grocery Ninja takes on kumquats, those sour little explosions of citrus, salty-sour inside, and sweet outside. There's also really lovely pork tacos, a three-alarm dish of tofu, and a mouth-tingling cheese from Italy.
• Grocery Ninja: Kumquats Are Grown-Up 'Mega Warheads' - Like Mega Warheads or Super Lemon, kumquats deliver a punch.
• Snapshots From Italy: Puglia’s Mouth-Numbing Ricotta Forte - Why did this cheese turn my mouth throb and tingle?
• Three-Alarm Tofu with Oyster Mushrooms and Spinach - This isn't a hot and spicy dish; it's three-alarm because it's cooked over high heat.
• Snapshots from Italy: The Mother Of All Carrots - Gorgeous carrots from Italy.
• Pork Tacos with Poblano and Tomatillo Salsa - This looks soooo good.

mmmm....kumquats!
I just came across an intriguing recipe for kumquat smoothies with orange flower water. I need to go shopping.
You know, I never thought about it that way, but they really ARE warheads for grownups.
I seen some kumquats at the market the other week and I was curious, but I didn't put them in my basket. After reading this inspiring post I put the kumquats in my basket. They were delightful and exciting to try. My husband and I really enjoyed them. It's so fun to pop in your mouth and make the sour face. Thanks for the post! I am looking forward to adding them to the weekend recipes.
when I was a kid, my friends and I used to dare each other to eat kumquats and see who could go the longest without making a sour face.
