Q: My partner teaches a small grad school class on Friday mornings, and he traditionally brings breakfast for the class — usually some pastries he picks up on the way. This year, it turns out that two of his students are gluten-free, and one of those is also dairy-free.
He asked me for advice on what to bring them, but I have to admit I'm stumped. Soy yogurt, fruit, and nuts would be my thought, but that's kind of a refrigeration-and-storage problem, not to mention a bit of a possible mess, as he takes the train. Do you or your readers have any suggestions?
