Q: My partner teaches a small grad school class on Friday mornings, and he traditionally brings breakfast for the class — usually some pastries he picks up on the way. This year, it turns out that two of his students are gluten-free, and one of those is also dairy-free.
He asked me for advice on what to bring them, but I have to admit I'm stumped. Soy yogurt, fruit, and nuts would be my thought, but that's kind of a refrigeration-and-storage problem, not to mention a bit of a possible mess, as he takes the train. Do you or your readers have any suggestions?

Editor: Sarah, you didn't mention if you were looking for recipes as well as store-bought breakfast ideas, but if you or your partner have time to make a couple batches of these Four-Ingredient Banana Oat Bars with gluten-free oats, they are tasty, freeze beautifully and would travel well:
Readers, do you have any suggestions for gluten- and dairy-free breakfasts that travel well?
