A kitchen window will be mandatory when we buy a house. 2 apartments in a row w/ no kitchen window.
Oh it is a must for me also. I love to look outside while doing dishes...
If you plan to have kids at all, the kitchen window is best if it looks upon the outdoor play area (backyard?). That way you can be inside and still keep an eye on the kids - and be entertained. I have a friend whose kitchen window overlooks the fence and she just isn't comfortable having the kids (toddlers) outside without supervision, especially in a neighbourhood with back alleys.
No window in the kitchen in my townhouse. That's a must-have for the next place.
I have a pretty charmless apartment kitchen and a window is something I just covet. Next place, maybe!
Thought I was the only one without a kitchen window. And I dream of one someday!
I look directly at the Capitol Records building in Hollywood, palm trees, and downtown LA glitters at night.
I have 3 big windows in my kitchen--one over the sink and two flanked side by side in the kitchen nook. Bright and sunny--I couldn't imagine having no windows in there, or in any room, really.
yes! and i can't imagine not having one!

It helps make cleaning the dishes easier when I can space out and look outside.
I have 2 windows in my kitchen, but neither is above the sink. I, too, love to look outside while doing the dishes.
I'm fortunate enough to have a window over the sink and four large windows in the adjoining breakfast nook. I absolutely love it! I've put bird feeders outside the windows and scatter corn along the fence line for the squirrels. I have several large trees to enjoy in my yard and in my neighbors' yards, and I also planted lots of flowering vines, shrubs, and potted plants that attract butterflies and humming bees. I love to watch nature as I cook and do dishes and when I'm sitting at the table drinking coffee and reading blogs online, like I am now.
Since my kitchen window faces the next building accross and alley-like space, and it's not a pretty view -- I opted to cover it for privacy yet still let in light. You can see it here, but the pic (the first one) doesn't do justice to how magical it is to see morning light through the colored (mostly mexican) glass. The white fabric covering the window is much lighter and translucent than the flas photo makes it appear:

Yes, I have a window in my kitchen but, as I don't know how to send it, I send the url of the photograph in Filckr. This is in Asturias, northern Spain.

Yes, I have a kitchen window. Not much of a view unless you get close and look at the newly landscaped courtyard 1 floor below, otherwise you see my neighbors kitchen window. Also, they didn't design the size of the kitchen in 1927 to accommodate the size and depth of today's modern refrigerators so mine now blocks half of the window.

that's so smart to have a window by the stove--a naturally green exhaust!
