We have a thing for bottle openers. They're such a simple tool, and yet they come in such fun, random, and fascinating designs! Here are a few of our favorites that we've recently seen and coveted. Do you have a favorite quirky bottle opener of your own?
1. Hop and Pop from Fred & Friends - We bet this feels nice in your hand. The legs can also be used to help unscrew jar lids! (Buy one at BottleOpener.com)
2. Castle Key Bottle Opener from Anthropologie - We'd hang this pretty bottle opener from a nice ribbon in our kitchen. (Otherwise we know it would get lost in the drawer.)
3. Bottle Opener Ring from Amazon.com - Fashion meets function!
4. Bike Chain Bottle Opener from BottleOpener.com - We're suckers for this industrial look.
5. Rail Road Spike Bottle Opener from Hammeronsteel via Etsy - This would definitely make an interesting conversation piece!
6. Bottle Opener Belt Buckle from Metalogical via Etsy - We're not confident we could actually open a beer without soaking our jeans, but we still like the look of this multi-tasking buckle.
7. Iron Gargoyle Bottle Opener from Amazon.com - Like the gothic look? This little guy would make an fun cooking companion.
8. Classic Coca Cola Bottle Opener from Retroplanet - We've coveted this bottle opener for a long time, but as renters, have lacked a sturdy wall we feel like we can drill into. One day...
Your turn! Are you a sucker for silly bottle openers?

I have this shark bottle opener from Animal House and I love it! I also have a whale ice cream scoop, duck chip clips, an octopus scrubber and a mouse cheese shredder. People always comment on how cute and modern they look. I would buy every item if I could!

Weeble Wobble Bobble Head Bottle Opener is not mine, but it is at a friend's house, and is my favorite - http://www.popdeluxe.net/4635.html
I use one of those little doodads you get for free at hardware stores that are used to pry off paint can lids.
I like to use the back of a lighter. I also am impressed when others use another beer bottle. The ring bottle opener looks very cool, but I'd be afraid my finger would get pinched.
I second @Wendy Starr's comment. I like my shark :)
My husband has a bottle opener keychain. It is the shape of Texas (which, oddly enough, works very well to be a bottle opener) and is burnt orange with a longhorn for UT.
Definitely comes in handy having a bottle opener on your keychain!
Kind of like this, but his is nicer:

I had the green frog opener and it worked great for about a month and then one of the little legs broke off....tragic
I don't know how sanitary these are, but I bought a pair for my husband and he is now the official bottle opener at bbq's... Kind of silly but fun!

This line of keychain-bottle openers that are many times disguised for what they are, are fantastic! Who can tell that that penguin, bicycle or Kokopelli will actually pop open your beer later tonight?!

Best bottle opener: another bottle. Ok, maybe not the best, but it's fun to do and more fun to teach.
Proud owner of a hop and pop :)
