The New York Times reported today that the Fulton Fish Market's move to the Bronx has been delayed again.
Seems they're tangled up in legal issues surrounding the question of who can unload the fishies from the dock. Seems there are allegations of a mafia influence. It shouldn't come as any surprise: seems there are records from as early as 1854 of plans to move the stinky market elsewhere.
For now, the $85 million, 300,000 square-foot new home of the market in Hunts Point, will sit empty. With the current cost of fuel, let's just hope they're not refrigerating it yet.
