Maybe it's that by this time of year the heat is getting to everyone's heads. Or gardeners are fed up with constant toiling and want to cut loose a little bit. Whatever it is, it seems we all get the giggles when it comes to frisky finds in the garden:

haha i love these. I had a 3 legged carrot too this year. it turns out when they send down multiple err... shafts its because they were over watered, so instead of going down they go out. Anyway it tasted just fine!

Hilarious! When my sister picked out Japanese eggplants for the garden, we started calling them Megplants in her honor, but she was not pleased when they turned out to be pretty darn phallic!

When I was in high school and college, I worked at Village Fruit in funky Allston Massachusetts back in the early/mid 80's. We had a rotating obscene fruit and veggie exhibit that we hid in the bathroom medicine cabinet. It was always a laugh to open it and see the new "figure studies". Thanks for the blast from the past!
