Oh, meatballs. The ultimate comfort food. The food that reminds you of home, that satisfies after a hard day, that while slowly simmering away makes the house smell irresistible They make a fine appetizer, a winning supper with pasta, and a satisfying lunch on sandwiches. So what are our favorite recipes?
People can be picky about their meatballs. Some prefer all beef while others claim pork is the way to go. My mom always made a blend of pork and beef, so that's generally what I do at home, too. But there are a whole range of recipes from classic beef, chicken and even vegetarian lentil meatballs. Many are spiced differently, all are delicious. We hope you find a new favorite here:

I love meatballs, they are my go-to food. I keep (usually turkey) meatballs in the freezer. I add them to soups. I use them for gyros. Yum.

Meatballs and tomato sauce are overdone here in the United States. In southern Italy one great way of making meatballs is with stuffed provola (no sauce); here's the recipe for anyone interested - pan fried meatballs with stuffed provola. Provola is a type of soft cheese.
I am meatball obsessed at the moment, so much so that I have started a meatball series of posts on my blog! My surrent favourite is lamb meatballs with pesto sauce.
