We've seen painted and stenciled kitchen floors before, but stripes? Sure, why not! In this client's kitchen, artist and Apartment Therapy Color Therapist Mark Chamberlain painted a gradient of blue stripes for a kitchen floor that is anything but ordinary.

I can only imagine the work must have been painstaking. At first glance it looks like a rug, so it's even more remarkable when you know it's actually hand-painted. I can't say the colors in this kitchen are totally my style, but still — the idea is intriguing!

What do you think? Do you love the look?
