First there was Etsy, an explosively popular online marketplace for crafters, artisans, and designers of all stripes. Now comes Foodzie, which hopes to replicate Etsy's success, but in the area of fine foods.
Foodzie describes themselves as an online marketplace where you can discover and buy food from small artisan producers and growers. This is very similar to sites like Local Harvest, which provides a national marketplace for farmers and local producers of things like honey, cheese, and citrus.
But Foodzie hopes to offer more, and we have to admit that they come in a very pretty package. Their site is clean and pretty, and they currently have a small, select group of artisans offering everything from pumpkin spice granola to hot sauce. We were glad to see Taza chocolate there, too.
Have you explored Foodzie yet? What do you think?
