One thing we forgot to mention in our praise of cocoa and toast the other day was how much we enjoy dunking the toast slices into the warm cocoa. So good! That got us thinking about our other favorite food and beverage combinations for dunking...
Here's what we came up with:
• Cocoa and Toast (of course!)
• Milk and Cookies
• Coffee and Biscotti
• Coffee and Doughnuts
• Tea and Biscuits (the hard "digestive" kind)
• Wine and Taralli (hard Italian biscuit-cookies)
• Vin Santo and Biscotti
Any other favorite combos?

French fries and milkshakes.
agreed - especially wendy's frosties and french fries!
churros and thick "aztec-style" hot chocolate!
I'm more for cider and doughnuts, forget the coffee!
Milk and graham crackers has always been a favorite of mine.
I'm a huge dunking fan--I'll dunk any sweet thing in any milk, coffee, or tea.
croissants and cappuccinos!
black tea and anything :-) but especially buttered toasts
hot chocolate and croissants (optionally hollowed out and stuffed with jam)!
Coffee and Tim Tams.
grade school lunch:
grilled cheese and tomato soup!
Ryvita with butter and marmite, dipped in black coffee (the coffee is undrinkable afterwards, but oh my god is that cracker delicious).
Churros con chocolate caliente... Not the thick, cinnamon-y crap Mexicans make, but the proper [crispy, sugary] churros the Spaniards originated (and the Cubans do so well).
The hot chocolate thickness comes from Maizena - and it's a Spanish (and Cuban) thing, not some locally magical Aztec dust! :)
Also, I'd like to throw in another vote... this time for Cuban 'cafe con leche' and 'pan [cubano] con mantequilla.'
wow, can we keep the racism to a minimum, we are just talking about food.
buttered toast and coffee.
Also there is this chinese fried bread: i don't know what it's called in english, but they are basically long sticks of fried bread that you heat in the oven when you bring them home to make the outsides crisp again. Anyway, these dunked in a glass of very cold soymilk is the best breakfast! They soak up the soymilk but somehow magically stay crispy, mmmm.
mint iced tea and fresh tomatoes!
I definitely agree with the french fries and milkshakes sentiment. It's the best.
Definitely hot tea and Tim Tams! Perfect snack :)
Wow, machete. The commentary was really unnecessary.
coffee and toast. i've never heard of this. I am thinking soggy toast.
but any sort of cookie/biscuit in any milky tea, or milk, or possibly milky coffee is good. I actually like those Biscoff cookies they give out on Delta Airlines... they are great dippers.
And the classic as a kid was oreos and milk.
When I went to Italy, I tried biscotti and vin santo for the first time. awesome.

I dislike a Mexican variation of a food and it's somehow racist and insulting?
Read my post again in the context of it being a light-hearted reply to Michelle of Montreal.
I even put a smiley in my post which I never do!
You guys are reading into things.
Someone mentioned a variation of my favorite, the Chinese 'you tiao' -- deep fried dough strips eaten with hot, unsweetened soy milk.
My boyfriend would like me to throw in: coffee and plain bagels!
Oreos in peanut butter!!
ok, not a beverage, but still amazing.
