People have settled down for some serious winter cooking this week in the blogosphere - time to keep those kitchens warm!

Esurientes, one my favorite comfort food reads, creates pea and mint soup and a mouth-watering lamb roast.

Cooking for Engineers does a characteristically analytical and thorough review of the new Baker's Edge brownie pan that gives you more chewy crust and less soggy center.

Pertelote gets through a long British winter with chicken and sweet potato curry and lamb stew with butternut squash, while Columbus Foodie gets through an even worse Ohio winter by making two meals from one simple delicious bolognese sauce.

Some reliably good reading: Over at 101 Cookbooks, Heidi does a wonderfully informative post on honey, while at Delicious Days there's a colorful Mikado Salad and Clotilde gives us a tempting winter braise: Spoon-Tender Braised Veal Shank.
