We know that interior styles can follow the more nimble fashion world. So, following the return of colorblocking being cool for clothing, it's no wonder we're also seeing the trend in kitchens!
Kitchens actually lend themselves quite well to the look. Cabinets are modular by nature, providing a natural grid on which to colorblock. We like the look best with a clean, white backdrop and a few touches of color here and there.
While this is certainly a trendy look, it could absolutely be low-commitment. Just a few panels here are all that would need to be painted. It's also a way to make your mark on a rental by using something more temporary, like contact paper.
Tire of the trend? Simply go back to all white in the limited areas that were colorblocked!
What do you think about the idea of colorblocking in kitchens? Does it translate well from fashion to the kitchen?
