If you are lucky enough to own a carbonator and are in search of a new beverage project, check out bartender Jeffrey Morgenthaler's tutorial for making your own bottled, sparkling cocktails. Sipping a fizzy Americano straight from the bottle sounds so much more festive than the usual aperitif!
Morgenthaler uses an iSi Twist 'n' Sparkle to carbonate the chilled cocktail mixture, which is then poured into individual bottles and sealed with an inexpensive bottle capper. He bottles his drinks in small, 187 ml Champagne bottles and serves them chilled, with no glass or ice alongside. Refreshing, lightly alcoholic cocktails like the Americano and Aperol Spritz are especially compatible with this technique.
These drinks would be such a fun way to begin a small dinner party, or the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon bridal shower. And if you are crafty, the possibilities for good-looking, personalized bottle labels are endless.

I have the Twist 'n' Sparkle but I've only carbonated water and cranberry juice. I love it and it takes up way less space than the Soda Stream. That and the fact that it carbonates liquids other than water are the reasons I bought it. I'll have to look into making some of these cocktail recipes.
Fun! I'll have to look into the Twist 'n' Sparkle, sounds easy. Usually I make my own alcohol, and bottle carbonation from that point really doesn't cost anything at all, aside from a few teaspoons of sugar.

I own a Sodastream but I was curious about the Twist n Sparkle. I looked it up and it appears to have been recalled! http://twistnsparkle.com/index.html
