Favorite New Prep Bowls! Fun Dr. Seuss Kid's Bowls

These bowls were one of those gifts you receive and don't quite know what to do with. My husband and I don't have children (though the gift was from my mom, so this seemed like more than a subtle hint!), and themed dishes aren't exactly our style. They sat in the cupboard until one fateful day when I ran out of prep bowls.

It turns out these bowls are the perfect size for prepped ingredients, holding about two cups each. I like the lip on the side, too. This makes the bowls easy to carry and move around. Egg whites and other liquids pour easily from them without dribbling everywhere. They're made of melamine, so they're super sturdy and very light, though not microwave safe.

Plus, they're really fun! I loved Dr. Seuss as a kid, so seeing the illustrations now makes me feel happy and nostalgic. I have to smile when the silly drawings are revealed as I pour ingredients into the pan.

My mother said she picked up the bowls at Target in early spring. Unfortunately, I don't see them listed online, but check your store the next time you're there and you might get lucky. The illustrations on the other bowls are of Horton Hears a Who and I Am Sam.

Do you have any funky dishes like this that just make you smile?
