Naan bread and tandoori chicken are two classic foods found in nearly every Indian restaurant across the world. Naan's chewy texture and tandoori king prawns inspired the blogger at Oil Drum Tandoor to build his own tandoori oven. He says that he loved grilling and was ready for a new challenge. He considered and rejected a wood-burning pizza oven and a smoker, and ultimately settled on a tandoor.
