Evan Kleiman is a favorite Los Angeles food journalist. We tune in to KCRW every Saturday at 11 a.m. to hear the weekly farmers' market report, and learn all kinds of enlightening tidbits like how to make vegan twinkies, the scoop on handmade salami, great wine tips and interviews with experts like David Karp the fruit detective and Southern Foodways Alliance John T. Edge.
Kleinman is one of Los Angeles’ original slow food enthusiasts, having founded Slow Food L.A. and her restaurant, Angeli Cafe, serves up seasonal Italian delights. When we miss the show, we just download it from iTunes and voila, we’re up to date. Now, Kleiman is offering up a Good Food Video Podcast. It’s worth the watch as she visits the Santa Monica farmers market, picks out a fresh ingredient and makes something right on site – the first, which aired last week, showcased a sweet and sour winter squash recipe and it looked absolutely delicious.
