We don't usually push craft projects here at the Kitchn, but this one involves food, so we're making an exception.
It is high time for mini pumpkins at the markets—they're everywhere. And while you can cook and eat them, we are loving this place setting idea.
All you have to do is paint the pumpkins gold, and you've got some festive place settings (or simple table decorations) for a Fall dinner party. They'd be great for Thanksgiving, too, if you're planning ahead.
We're big fans of using fruit and vegetables to mark guests' seats (these seckel pear place settings are still a favorite). But painting them to make mini objets d'art is a bit more formal, and you can match a color scheme.
