Last Christmas, I made a light sushi lunch so we wouldn't lose our appetite for Christmas dinner. It was a casual meal but the mood was festive, so I lit some tea candles and eyed the bowl of clementines on the sideboard...
Winter meals in Paris often end with a bowl of seasonal clementines and fresh lychees -- usually brought out after dessert and coffee. I had planned to skip the dessert, but not the clementines, so I used them to help spruce up the table -- an edible centerpiece that works well in winter. In summertime, what about an edible centerpiece of grapes? Cherries? Fresh figs?
Anyone else have ideas for edible summertime table decorations?

That's so pretty ... I hope I remember when December comes around.
Little bowls of berries could make a pretty centrepiece, particularly if interspersed with candles or flowers.
