Everyone around me seems to be revving up their fitness routine to get ready for spring. Friends order salads when we eat out, and family members are working out twice in one day. Me? I'm eating cake for breakfast.
Now cake for breakfast isn't entirely a new thing. We've all had our fair share of coffeecake and sneaking a swipe of leftover birthday cake with our morning coffee.
But there's a whole world out there beyond the typical and expected morning treat. From a glorious spring breakfast buckle to a savory French-inspired cake, there's inspiration aplenty here for the days when you're ready to retire your ho-hum breakfast cereal or skip a morning at the gym.
Here are 15 cakes that I think would suit breakfast very well. You can reduce the sugar just a wee bit, and leave off the icing in the recipes, too.

Every cake is breakfast cake. ;-)
I agree Janelle711! In my family it is tradition to eat the cake for breakfast that was dessert the night before. :) ESP. at holidays.
Breakfast cake is almost as good as breakfast pie.
I was JUST thinking about this today. I want a recipe for a carrot bread that I can use for french toast and top with cream cheese icing.
Cake for breakfast is best in a bowl with milk or cream on top. The boyfriend prefers heavy cream. I think it's a dairy farmer thing. Lol. All I know is that it is highly addicting and tastes fantastic.
Need some help please.
I would like the recipe for the blueberry and oats cake at the top of the page. I can't seem to find it. I get the little hand icon when I put my cursor over the 10 cake pics below it but it doesn't open anything (I think because it should be on this page.) The only similar recipe listed further down is the blueberry banana cake with cream cheese icing. I tried searching for a blueberry oatmeal cake but had no luck there either.
Any ideas or does anyone have this recipe?
i second abelheart's request. please, where is the link for the blueberry oatmeal cake? it looks so delicious!
