Do you order martinis mostly to eat the gin-soaked olive at the bottom of the glass? Then we have just the appetizer for you: boozy olives!
Soaking bright green olives in gin or vodka with a splash of vermouth recreates the briny, boozy magic at the bottom of a martini glass, without having to down a drink. It's a fun twist on the usual marinated olive, and has us thinking about other cocktail-garnish-inspired appetizers. Rye-soaked oranges? Bloody-Mary-infused celery?
The forward-thinking ladies at Canal House originally published a recipe for martini-soaked olives last year, which inspired the recipe in Sunset below.

Who does'nt like boozy olives??????
I love vodka gimlet olives. Not so much the vodka gimlets, though. Great idea!
My friends love making bloody mary tomatoes. We poke holes in cherry tomatoes with a toothpick and marinate them in Absolut Peppar. We serve them in a martini glass with a side of lemon salt and pepper on the side. You can just grab a tomato with a toothpick and roll in the salt and pepper mixture, and it's like a tiny bloody mary!
Wait till I tell my sister, we both love martinis for this exact reason. I know what I'm bringing for Christmas.
