Paper cups are one of those necessary party supplies that we never expect to look very special on the table. But then we saw these gorgeous DIY painted paper cups on Design*Sponge. Bright and fresh-looking, they are also incredibly easy and quick to make.
A Design*Sponge reader devised this project after a fruitless hunt for pretty paper cups for her birthday party. She made her own by mixing a small amount of acrylic paint with water and painting freehand designs along the bottom half of white paper coffee cups, which gives the paper an expensive watercolor look.
The simplicity of the designs makes the cups look even more chic — the interesting color palette also helps — so this DIY project could be tackled by even the most artistically-challenged.

Those are gorgeous!
But . . . given that acrylic paint is water soluble, the paint just might begin to rub off on one's hand because of a humid or damp hand, or condensation. Unless those cups are condensation proof.
Gorgeous to look at though!
i'm sorry, but i'd rather put thoughtful touches into my food, than on the drink-ware that will be thrown away
