A new study suggests that soda drinkers might be better off drinking pop made with real sugar — not artificial sweeteners.

Why? Because when you drink a diet soda, your body doesn't get the energy it expects from the sweet drink. Which can leave you vulnerable to craving (and indulging in) other sweets later.

Drinking that diet soda will lower your willpower to skip dessert.

This means that for occasional soda drinkers, the best advice is to pass on the diet versions of your favorite sodas. By making that your sweet indulgence you'll be less likely to crave another sweet later.
