Dole Recalls Packaged Salads

About a year after the spinach recall, Dole announced a voluntarily recall yesterday for Dole Hearts Delight salads with a best if used by date of September 19, 2007, and a production code of A24924A or A24924B.

Dole has not received reports that anyone has become sick from eating these products. The recall started after a sample in a grocery store in Canada was found through random screening to contain E. coli O157:H7.

We've talked here about the peanut butter contamination in February and the pet food problems in March and April. This news is one more reminder to eat local, avoid highly processed food, and always wash your vegetables.
