Bacon lovers, rejoice! It's National Bacon Lovers Day — a whole 24 hours dedicated to you and your obsession with all things cured pork.

Looking for a way to celebrate? You should probably make this bacon fat-laced cornbread with brown sugar bananas. If this isn't the most perfect way to celebrate this sacred food holiday, I don't know what is.

To get the rendered bacon fat, you first need to cook up about 1/4 pound of bacon. You swirl some of the rendered bacon fat into the cornbread batter, and also use it to grease the smoking-hot cast iron skillet before pouring in the batter. Your cornbread gets an impossibly crispy crust and the taste of beautiful bacon permeates the whole thing. It's a win-win.

Top with sliced bananas, sprinkle with brown sugar, and bake in the skillet until the bananas are sweet and caramelized.
