According to some research, many people like to watch cooking shows, but they don't actually cook that much at home, which can make cooking into a spectator sport. This probably isn't so true for The Kitchn crowd, though. You have to be interested in hands-on cooking if you're hanging out with us! But if you do like to watch cooking shows, what kind do you like the most?
Like Anjali, I enjoy the new PBS show The Mind of a Chef. The first season is streaming on Netflix but I've really learned a lot from watching the first half of season 2 on the PBS website, featuring Sean Brock of Charleston NC. He is such an enthusiastic and curious chef and his food looks amazing. I'm also very much looking forward to April Bloomfield, who will be the featured chef in part 2.
I also recommend British cooking shows like the River Cottage series, Nigel Slater, and even Nigella and Jamie Oliver. Some of these shows are a little hard to find here in the US but occasionally you can catch a snippet or even a whole show on YouTube.
