Slipping in a favorite CD to set the mood can feel almost as important as the recipe we have planned and the ingredients in our fridge.
It's been a while since we last checked in: what's your favorite cooking soundtrack?When cooking alone, I invariably turn to one of two different albums: Kind of Blue by Miles Davis or Solo by Yo Yo Ma.
These albums seem to make an equally good soundtrack whether I'm dicing onions or kneading bread. The first few notes immediately put me in a relaxed frame of mind, helping me to slow down and enjoy each step of my cooking.
But then there are the times when you just need to belt it out while pounding some cutlets! The soundtrack for these moments is entirely dependent on passing whim. Sometimes old school Beastie Boys is perfect. Other times, it's whatever pops up on the radio!
