It was late, bed was calling, and the house was stuffy and hot. I had dessert to make for a party the following day, but honestly, the last place I wanted to be was in the kitchen. We all contribute here — as readers and writers — because we love food, home cooking, and well-considered kitchen spaces. But even we have our fill of the kitchen sometimes!Of course, as with all things, it helps to plan ahead and allow ample time to enjoy cooking at a comfortable pace while you're awake, alert, and in a good mood. The design of the kitchen comes into play here, as well. A clean, carefully organized, and well-laid-out kitchen is much more of a joy to work in than one that's overflowing, ill-planned, and out of order.
Have you begrudged cooking or being in your kitchen recently? Why? Were you, like us, tired at the end of the day? Couldn't find the tools or ingredients you needed? Or was it just too hot (as many of us in the Midwest are of late)? How do you deal with it to make it as pleasant as possible? Please tell us below!
