Most kitchen linens are small, lightweight, and widely varied. Which makes them an often inexpensive and easy item to bring back home from travels. Here are some unique pieces that are decidedly of their place:
FRANCE:
- shopping bags from Chez Zoe
- Tilh oven glove by Artiga
- Citrouille tea towel by Coucke
IRELAND
- Kitchen Towel by Thomas Ferguson Irish Linen
ITALY
- Osteria Italian Kitchen Towels at EyeItalia

Ekelund has always been my favorite. Some of the designs they have are not quite my thing, but I was able to pick up a cute gnome Christmas table runner in Lake Placid one year.
If I can ever afford to go back to Europe, I will def buy some linens (good gifts for a cooking family, too). I have family in Japan so that sucks up my travel dollar. AWESOME housewares store in Tokyo, best best best for stuff like this, is Loft in Shibuya. My fave are all the shopping bags that fold up into tiny versions of themselves to stash in your purse.
Japan has some nice linens, too, though. Lots of lovely 100% linen stuff.
Every time I visit Paris, I stop by Comptoire de Famille and pick up some nice tea towels, placemats, etc. Very nice stuff.
