Dining Rooms Are Popular, But Rarely Used

When was the last time you ate dinner in your dining room? Aside from big holiday meals or dinner parties, we're going to guess it's been a while.

Which makes it surprising to learn that dining rooms are actually more popular in newly built homes than they were in the past.

A U.S. Census Survey showed that 50.6 percent of homes built between 2005 and 2009 included dining rooms, while only 46.9 percent of homes built before 1960 included them.

Now the question remains, just what are all those dining rooms being used for, if not for dining?
