I have a total thing for Moroccan-inspired tiles. I dream about covering my bathroom floors with them one day, but I may have to make plans to outfit my kitchen now, too.
What do you think? Do you love how they transform an otherwise ho-hum kitchen? Are you inspired by the colors and patterns? Would you do a whole wall if you could, or just keep it to a backsplash? How about flooring?

Yesss!
These are just superb!
Oh, image number nine! Twelve years ago I bought a book with that picture in it, I dreamt that someday I would have that kitchen. That combination of colours, textures, the warmth! I still have the book, I still have the page flagged, I still love this kitchen, and I'm about a year away from renovating a house that I really love. Is this a sign? Maybe dreams do come true. Or maybe I'm just an obsessive nut.
Oh my! #5 (the all turquoise) is divine!
If only my parents had known in the late 80's, before a total remodel, that their kitchen tiles would be back in style.
maybe it has something to do w my woeful lack of kitchen storage, but #7 is driving me mad with desire
The 5th and 9th pictures made my heart beat a little faster.
number one is my favorite! It really pops when there's not too much of it!
I had to register on this site just so I could ask a question on here... I've been dieing trying to find the perfect tiles for my kitchen and I see a few options on here that im truely in love with. Does anybody know where to find/purchase these tiles??? I was actually looking into methods of making my own.
LOVE kitchen picture two; beautiful tile, bright, open feel and that window/view... *le sigh*
I always love the moroccan tiles Genevieve Gorder uses on her HGTV show. I just wish I knew where to find them. She incorporates them so well into any style kitchen and they have some great color.
The tiles in picture 9 are called "Zelliges". The actual ones in the picture come from Emery & Cie, which is based in Belgium (it comes from their website) which also has a presence in the U.S. They also carry other more decorative Moroccan tiles, similar to those in the other pictures.
Check out their website, as they provide a good explanation of the tiles:

Moroccan-inspired. Sigh. That just opens the doors for more cheap imports from China.
I've been coveting the tiles in #1 for years! I can't believe I'm seeing them here. I always thought I'd use them on one wall, floor to ceiling, in a small half bath.
I've been looking for ways to add open shelving in my kitchen and I'm having a hard time finding brackets that don't stand out too much (small galley kitchen). Those shelves in the first picture look great.
Anyone know how they made the shelving in the first picture? L-Brackets screwed into studs on the wall and then screwed into the wood shelf?
Stunning. Just know that it may not be to everyone's taste and when putting a house on the market, such striking tile may turn off some potential buyers. It happened to a friend of mine who put in moroccan tile and matching counter tops. She ended up tearing out the tile.... much to my dismay. I thought it was a kitchen to die for, but I guess not everyone did.
what a wonderful inspirations! unfortunately moroccan people used less and less our beautiful tiles!

Boomertea,
You might also look at Granadatile.com. They have tons of beautiful designs -- several of which look Moroccan insipired -- and you can customize the colors.
Beautiful
1 and 6 are perfect, to me.
Oh, number two. If you were mine, I would never grow tired of you.
Please help me find the tiles on pic # 1 ! Anyone? Please, please! Pretty please?!
OMG! I'm Moroccan, and I have been surrounded by these tiles all my life, but never thought it would look good in a modern kitchen. It's just that they're always associated with traditionnal things, you know, so my mind just couldn't figure out another way of using them. I love these delightful combinations, especially n° 6 and 7.
I don't know how to purchase them abroad, but there are plenty in Morocco for sure... And oh, they're all called "zellij" or "zelliges" (french spelling).
